The architecture of the palace and its tower date back to 1200, but in later centuries have been the subject of many changes that have altered the original appearance.
Former Praetorian Palace in 1266 was the residence and administrative headquarters of the mayor in office.
With surprising continuity, has remained, until now the administrative seat of local government.
