In the historical center , rises the bell tower of the medieval Pretorio Palace . The palace was built between 1337 and 1346 and it was restored during the XVth and XVIIth century. It was the civil authority headquarters ; on the main facade and on the eastern side of the palace are visible many coats of arms of the various Bailiffs present during the Republic of Siena and during the Medici times. Quite remarkable is a pillory, that stands on the right hand side of the main portal, where real or presumed criminals were exposed for mockery.
