Guazzino has become only recently a hamlet in the territory of Sinalunga. Guazzino is at about 4 kilometers from the toll booth n.28- exit Valdichiana of the Highway del Sole, in the middle of the territory of the township of Sinalunga. According to Repetti, the name of the place comes from Guazzino from Montepulciano, who owned some land in this territory in the 14th century. The village is mentioned for the first time in a document dated February 19th, 1310. The most ancient nucleus is made up by the parish and a few surrounding homes; whereas the many houses, located on the road that takes from Pieve of Sinalunga to Bettolle, have risen during the period when the brick factories stared functioning in the surrounding area.
