Fortezza Medicea Montepulciano

PALACES AND MONUMENTS

The Medici Fortress is located on the highest part of town. It was built by the Sienese in 1261, but it was destroyed and rebuilt several times, thanks to the strives between Sienese and Florentines. It’s been extremely tampered with restorations between the end of the 1800s and the beginning of our century.
