The church of san Francesco was risen with the wide conventual complex, in the XIII century on the ruins of the medieval castle. To testify it there are the rests, on the walls of the nave and the central chapel, of frescoes of the second half of the XIII century, about Christological themes and episodes of San Francesco’s life. Between the XVII and the XVIII century it underwent heavy works of modernizations with the building of the baroque altars, the closing of the niches which were frescoed at the beginning of the XV century and of part of the Gothic windows and the whitewashing of most part of the wall-painting which date back to the XIV century. The last restoration, started at the end of the XX century, has allowed to recover some of the wall-paintings.
